SEASONS GREETINGS

As we come to the close of 1997, we look back to see what has been accomplished and the lives that have been touched through Christian Missionary Association.  We again can say "To God be the Glory for the Great Things He has Done."  It is you, our partners that has made this possible.  It is with a grateful heart that I thank you for believing in this ministry with your faithful support and prayers.  This up-to-date report will let you know how and where your money was spent.

BACKWARD GLANCE OF 1997

HAITI - March we were privileged to be with Bill & Marlene Burch of Faith in Action for a ladies seminar.  The ladies came from several areas of the Island.  Most of them gave testimonies of how their lives were changed by attending.  Sis. Marlene Burch stated, "I feel that the ladies never will be the same.  The anointing was so strong and we will never know the impact that this seminar had on the lives of these ladies.  They show so much excitement and some already asked when will the next one be.  Not only were the ladies encouraged but we had three ladies accept Jesus.  That is worth it all".

ESTONIA - In May the CMA team held a ladies seminar on the premises of Maie Kirt's 240 acre farm that she inherited from her grandparents and mother.  The Russians confiscated the farm from her grandparents and their five children.  They put her grandmother and the children in a concentration camp and her grandfather in another camp.  The only survivor was Maie's mother.  Maie was 15 years old when her mother died.  Before she died she gave all the legal papers of the farm to Maie stating, "If Estonia would ever come out from under the Russian regime she would have proof of ownership."  While the Russians had the farm they built an auditorium with a stage.  Estonia came out from Russia regime in 1991.  We were privileged to use the auditorium for our seminar.  The seminar was very successful.  Many were delivered from hurts and scars while under Russian rule.  Many were slain under the spirit and came up with the Holy laughter.  Pastor Lloyd Blount ministered the night services that were opened to the public.

AMSTERDAM - From Estonia we came back through Amsterdam for another ladies seminar.  Some of the women came from Iran and other countries where the men are very demanding with the women and very domineering, causing low self-esteem in their lives.  I taught on "You are God's Best."

EDDIE WARRIOR PRISON CRUSADE - In August I was privileged to work with Gary Hays Prison Ministries.  The following report was given by Gary Hays.

We have just completed our annual crusade in the Oklahoma Women's Prison at Taft.  This year we used tents to accommodate groups of inmates.  We conducted a Christian Motorcade Rodeo and had some of the best singers and musicians you could imagine.  Sister Helen Redman was our key-note speaker.  Her message was not filled with a lot of hype and emotions but with compassion, concern, hope and principles of the Christian life.  The inmates were very responsive at the altar call.  We documented thirty-three first time salvations and twenty re-dedications.  So many inmates responded that our volunteers could not get to everyone.  One inmate stopped me on Sunday morning to tell me she had gone into the barracks and led her friend in the sinners prayer.  Oh, if the churches could see how ripe the harvest is in the prisons.  Sometimes when the finances get low I think of quitting, but after a week-end like this one there is no way to quit.  Thank you Sister Helen for being part of our great team.  God bless you for your sacrifices to help us minister to hurting people.

Your Servant in Christ,
Rev. Gary L. Hays
