The kingdom of the Netherlands is a European country, located on the south shore of the North Sea. It is often called Holland, a name that refers to a part of the country that historically has been dominant. Germany lies to the east and Belgium to the south. The Netherlands is one of Europe's smallest and most densely populated countries. Both it's people and their language are known to English-speakers as Dutch, a name derived from DEUTSCH meaning German. The name Netherlands is derived from the Dutch word NEDER meaning "law", and the term "low countries" is used collectively for Belgium, Luxembourg, and the Netherlands as a reference to the low lying nature of the land. The capital of the Netherlands is Amsterdam. I was privileged to meet Reverend Ratnam Crispus of the Netherlands last October at Worldwide Missions Evangelism Conference. He extended an invitation to come hold a seminar for the Netherland ladies. It was a new door God opened for Christian Missionary Association, for which I was very grateful. Brother and Sister Crispus live about forty miles from Amsterdam. They had to leave for Norway the day after we arrived. We were privileged to stay in their home with their three beautiful teenage daughters the week we were there. The girls were very hospitable and made our stay a josfful one. The seminar was held at Christian Fellowship, with Pastor and Sister Roy Kusardy. There were several nationalities represented. The women and their families had migrated to Holland from other countries, for this reason several different interpreters were used. Some of the women came from Iran and other countries, where the men were very demanding with the women and very, domineering, causing a low self-esteem in their lives. It was an honor to speak on the subject "God's Best For You". Pastor Lloyd Blount ministered to the men in a separate meeting room from the ladies. Many miracles of deliverance took place with the men as well as the women. This being our first trip to the Netherlands Reverend Crispus made arrangements for Bother Felix to take us sightseeing. We were told that Amsterdam was another "Sodom and Gomorrah", but I was not prepared to see trucks on the streets handing our free drugs to anyone that wanted them, including young people. The country feels that instead of people stealing and killing for drugs they would hand the drugs out free of charge. I saw young people sitting around the town square totally stoned, with no purpose in life. If only they knew how special they are to God. Beautiful big churches have closed their doors and sold their buildings to the Muslims. Because of socialism the younger generation does not attend a church of any kind. It is a real mission field. Please pray for real revival for Holland. The following are testimonies from our team members: The seminar in Amsterdam was great. I met more of God's family. The team stayed in the home of Brother Crispus and Sister Josephine. We were treated like royalty. Their daughters impressed me with their manners, love for God, their church and house keeping. I hope to return someday. Sister Lurie Dantin For Christian Missionary supporters that make seminars like this possible it is far beyond "worth it". Seeing pastors, leaders, and the people hungry and open for a move of God is impressing. In Estonia and Holland we witnessed an awesome move of the Holy Ghost. The voice of God, fresh anointing, and the heaviness of God's glory upon the people were experienced in the services. Blind eyes were opened, growths disappeared, and the crippled walked and danced. Many healings caused such rejoicing, tears, and joy. Ministries and calls were confirmed, with local churches being strengthened. Truly this was a positive trip. Pastor Lloyd & Regina Blount PHILIPPINE RICE FARMING EQUIPMENT I received an up-dated report from Sister Ellen Javillo on Christian Missionary Association's rice farming equipment. She stated: "So far the farm equipment project has helped support a certain pastor who has worked pioneering in Inumna, Sindangan for the past two years. Unpolished rice also was given for their crusade. As of now, they have established a church in that area with the rice proceeds." Thanks to all of our Christian Missionary Association supporters that helped purchase this equipment. PHILIPPINE PASTORS AND LADIES SEMINAR, APRIL 1998 The seminar will be held in Dumaguete City, on the Island of Negros. Because of all the work that goes Into preparing this large seminar, we have to start a year In advance. This consists of finding a place to conduct the seminar, lodging, meals for the pastors, sending out invitations, making banners, etc. The expense alone Is $4OOO.00 and this does not include travel. Sister Javillo needs $2000.00 by August for the prearranging of the seminar. We desperately need you as our partners to help sponsor this seminar. Please pray about planting seeds into the lives of these pastors. |
