It is with great joy that I greet you again this month from the office of C.M.A. In the book of Numbers, chapter 13 we find how faith versus giants. The Lord spoke to Moses to send out twelve spies to spy out the land. Only two came back with a positive message. They said, "It is a good land and we are able to go up and take it." But ten of those men preached circumstances instead of God's promise. They preached that there were giants over there and that the cities were walled and well fortified. They saw the children of Anak, the Amalekites, the Jebusites and all the rest. By every standard of natural thinking the land God had promised was an impossibility. Only two men said the job could be done while a whole generation turned back to Egypt in their hearts. One can almost hear the ancient voice of Caleb as he stood up before Moses and said, "Let up go up at once and possess it, for we are well able to overcome it." I am so thankful God honors faith wherever it is found. Even though one generation would not be allowed to go in, God honored the faith of Joshua and Caleb, and they lived to see the land possessed. As I have studied the word of God and searched out His promises, this one thing I am thoroughly convinced of, God has never failed a single individual that dared to believe His promises. Joshua led the procession over to their promised mountain full of giants. The cities were great and fenced, and again, victory was an impossibility without divine intervention. But a voice of faith comes ringing across the ages past. In spite of disappointments of life and wandering in the wilderness with all the unbelief involved, we can hear one of only two men left that came out of bondage, saying in regard to these giants, "I shall drive them out as the Lord said." Faith is a New Testament word used over 600 times in that portion of the Bible. May we never complain and murmur or talk defeat and unbelief. The report of the ten unbelieving spies was true. There were giants in the land. The cities were walled and well fortified. But in spite of all the truth involved in this report God called it an evil report. Joshua and Caleb never refuted the report that the other spies gave. They just declared, "we can do the job because the Lord said we could." I say again, "God honors faith!". When people dare to believe His word, God moves with whatever action is necessary to meet the need of the hour and give victory. We need to avoid disaster of unbelief that produces murmuring, questioning, bondage, etc. and move on to final victory that God determined we can have through faith. It is this faith that enables us to reach out to women who are so suppressed in third world countries. It is such a joy and privilege to teach them. They need to be taught that they are God's best, created in His image with a plan for each of their lives. By the time you receive this newsletter we will be in Estonia and Amsterdam holding ladies seminars. Please remember us in prayer. A full report will be given in June's newsletter. We want to thank you, our partners, that make these seminars possible. Would you pray that God will help us to touch people's lives around the world for to touch people is to touch Christ. Republic of South Africa by Charles & Elsie Nielsen"China" by Pastors Dennis and Kathy Balcombe(1) extended hours of prayer daily and frequent extended periods of fasting with only water from three days up to forty days; (2) the baptism of the Holy Spirit in which believers pray much in the Spirit (using "tongues" or the "prayer language" the Lord has given them); (3) a willingness to receive new truths as God moves, such as praise and worship or the "Father's Blessing" that is presently sweeping the world; and (4) making evangelism and the saving of the lost the primary focus of everything. It is so easy to be distracted by placing emphasis on God's blessings and basking in His presence, and forget there is a dying world going to hell without Christ. The constant cry of the Chinese Christian is "Woe is me, if I preach not the Gospel." Thus, throughout China, each year over 8 million people are saved and baptized in water. Yes, we can help the Chinese church through providing Bibles, teactung material and working with them to reach the lost through tract distribution and other types of missionary work. But they can also help us in teaching us the principles of a successful church and ministry, that will work in any nation or culture. |
