THE GREAT COMMISSION

It is significant to note that Christ's greatest commission to his disciples was given shortly after his resurrection.  When he arose from the grave it was an inspired hour which signified final victory after death, hell, and the grave.  Jesus stood in full triumphant power.  His presence radiated a sense of "Mission Accomplished" for he had fulfilled the commission received from his father.  Now he must perform one final act.  He must commit to his disciples their SUPREME COMMISSION.

During the forty days following his resurrection, Jesus shifted the attention of the disciples from a very small religions community to a vast unknown heathen world.  This briefly-trained, insignificant group faced the challenge of focusing the attention of the whole world upon the risen Christ.  As each disciple pondered just how this great task would be accomplished, Jesus spoke; "GO YE INTO ALL THE WORLD AND PREACH THE GOSPEL TO EVERY CREATURE...AND THESE SIGNS SHALL FOLLOW THEM THAT BELIEVE."  This word "GO" was an imperative command and carried a sense of urgency that no previous commission contained.  While the word "YE" is very personal.  At the same time it includes every believer in its all-encompassing scope.

The two previous commissions of Christ, recorded in Matthew 10 and Luke 10, were limited to twelve men and then to seventy.  In contrast, the great post-resurrection commission was limitless--it extended to all believers giving them power and authority over all the power of the enemy.

We have a lot to live up to today.  The evangelization of the world is still the direct responsibility of every believer.  The post-resurrection commission "GO..." is not optional but rather it is an imperative command.  Every Christian must find a way individually and in co-operation with others, to carry the message of the Kingdom of God to all the world.  If we take this commission seriously, as Christ intended, this challenge will not only transform our individual lives, but it will also bring every segment of the church into a major revelation.

W.M.E. MISSION CONFERENCE GREAT SUCCESS!!
Pastor W.S. McMasters, President

The first night of the meeting you could feel an expectation in the hearts of the people that this mission conference would be different, sure enough it was.  A spirit of giving was such, the mission budget was met the first two nights.  By the last night there were approximately two hundred ninety thousand dollars given for missions, breaking all previous records.  There were over 75 missionaries and their wives present.  Many of these including myself, received a fresh visitation from God so needed as missionaries.

SEMINAR REMINDER
Philippine Pastors & Wives Pastor

Pastor Jun Javillo, coordinator for C.M.A., set up our first seminar in 1989.  Each time it is set up on different islands in order to reach more pastors.  This is our 7th semi-annual seminar.  It will be held in Dumagute City on the large island of Negros in April of 1998.

There will be 250 delegates.  The budget for each will be $16.00.  This includes their meal subsidy, lodging and one-way fare.  C.M.A. is responsible for the total budget of $4,000.00.  If you would like to sponsor one or more pastors for the seminar, please designate on your check:  "Philippine Seminar."

CHRIS and PATRICIA REDMAN

This past week I attended the annual WME Missions Conference in Walker, Louisiana at Brother McMaster's church.  I must say that I have been blessed in many ways both during and after my attendance there.

On Wednesday, my wife and I attended an ordination service where we received our credentials in the ministry to preach.  Both Patticia and I were blessed to have several great men of God lay hands upon us and pray over us.  Great prophetic words came forth and I am truly in awe of what God is doing.

I have been stirred to the very depth of my soud to seek after Him.  The call of the ministry has been greatly reinforced and renewed with a wonderful passion for the world and the message of the gospel.

God is opening doors for us to minister in India and Mexico (perhaps in this coming year).  God has ordained a great call that I have carried since the time I was a young boy.  It is now coming to pass.

Be prayerful with me and for me as God continues to open doors for us to preach and to teach His Word.  Also, lift us up in prayer as I prepare to minister in a few churches here in the greater Louisiana area as some of our long term supporters and friends have opened their pulpits to me.

In closing, all I can say is, "Praise the Lord, He is good all the time, blessed be His name!"

Your financial contributions toward travel expenses for the seminars are greatly appreciated. Please designate on your check the seminar you wish to help with.
