DR. EDDIE WARRIOR:
WOMEN'S PRISON CRUSADE

GARY HAYS MINISTRIES

CRUSADE REPORT BY HELEN REDMAN

"Then the King will say to those on his right; "Come, you who have won My father's blessing!  Take your inheritance - the kingdom reserved for you since the foundation of the work!  For I was hungry, and you gave me food.  I was thirsty, and you gave me a drink; I was lonely, and you made me welcome.  I was naked, and you clothed me.  I was ill, and you came and looked after me-I was in prison, and you came to see me there."
Matt. 15:34-36, Phillips translation.

I was invited again this year by Rev. Gary Hays to be the guest speaker during the Women's Prison Crusade held at the women's prison in Taft, Oklahoma.  Last year was my first time to speak in a prison service.  It was one of the highlights of my life.  This year was no exception.  I can relate to Matt. 9:36 when Jesus saw the multitude.  He was moved to compassion on them because they fainted, and were scattered abroad as sheep having no shepherd.  It was a thrill to see four hundred of the seven hundred inmates come to the crusade.  At the close of each service the altar was full with inmates with so many hurts and needs.  There were thirty three first time salvations and twenty re-dedications.  The most fulfilling and rewarding thing in life is to find a need and to meet that need, find a hun and heal that hurt.  To touch people's lives is to touch Christ.

During the three day crusade several people from various states donated their time and expense to help.  The chaplain gave the women in our group permission to visit the inmates in their cells in three opened dormitories.  It gave us the opportunity to see how they live.  We were told not to sit on their bed for it was the only private thing they possessed.

REV. GARY HAYS REPORT

We have just completed our annual crusade in the Oklahoma Women's Prison at Taft, Oklahoma.  This year we used tents to accommodate groups of inmates.  It was very hot and my face was burned from the sun.  We conducted a Christian Motorcycle Rodeo and had some of the best singers and musicians you could imagine.

Sister Helen Redman was our keynote speaker.  Her message was not filled with a lot of hype and emotions but with compassion, concern, hope and principles of the Christian life.  The inmates were very responsive at the altar call.  We documented thirty three first time salvations and twenty re-dedications.  So many inmates responded that our volunteers could not get to everyone.  One inmate stopped me on Sunday morning to tell me she had gone into the barracks and led her friend in the sinners prayer.  Oh, if the churches could see how ripe the harvest is in the prisons.

We took approximately $2,000 worth of books and Bibles to distribute over the three days and they were all gone on the first night.  We received requests for more reading material than we can supply.  Sometimes when the finances get low I think of quitting, but after a week-end like this one there is no way to quit.  Thank you for being part of our great team.

God bless you for your sacrifices to help us minister to hurting people.

Your servant in Christ,
Rev. Gary L. Hays

CHRIS REDMAN FAMILY UPDATE

My family and I are in New Orleans at the New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary.  We are happy to be here.  However, New Orleans is about the closest thing to the foreign mission field that I have encountered here in the states.  We are getting settled in and will begin classes on Aug. 20th.

Thanks to so many of you for sending gifts to help with the expense of our tuition.  As it turned out your gifts over the past several months have accumulated to nearly the exact amount of tuition due for the fall semester.  I thank you and thank the Lord.

I am prayerful now about ministering in churches in the greater Louisiana/Mississippi areas on behalf of C.M.A.  If your church would be interested in receiving us in one or more of your services over the September, October, November months please contact our office in Skiatook, Oklahoma for our itinerary.

Finally, thank you to Pastor Charles and Michael Green of Faith Church of New Orleans for their warm acceptance of my family and I.  I have met with Pastor Charles and have been encouraged and blessed by his open heart and immediate friendship.

The Lord is with us and I hope to be in your church preaching as I have been called to do in the proper timing.

Thank You,
Christopher Redman

THANK YOU

Thank you for responding toward a much needed copier for our office.  We are still lacking $430.00.  If you feel God would have you to help toward this need it would greatly be appreciated.  Thank you for standing behind us with your faithful support and prayers.

PHILIPPINE PASTOR'S AND LADLES SEMINAR, APRIL 1998

The seminar vdll be held in Dumaguete City, on the Island of Negros.  Because of all the work that goes into preparing this large seminar, we have to start a year in advance.  This consists of finding a place to conduct the seminar, lodging, meals for the pastors, sending out invitations, making banners, etc.  The expense alone is $4.000.00 and this does not include travel.  We desperately need you as our parmers to help sponsor this seminar.

Please pray about planting seeds into the lives of these pastors.

Your financial contributions toward travel expenses for the seminars are greatly appreciated. Please designate on your check the seminar you wish to help with.

We'd love to hear from you:
