"Out of weakness were made strong" Hebrews 11:34 These words have become rhema in my life over the years. Hebrews 11, are the heroes and heroines of Old Testament times: men and women of faith who wrought exploits in the name of the Lord. We have tendencies to think they were different from ourselves, therefore we could never be like them. They were, "specials", whereas we are just plain, average, "ordinaries." Then we suddenly come across this revealing little clause in verse 34 that gives a new complexion to the whole story. Here is comfort and hope: "out of weakness were made strong." Those men and women of long ago faith-exploits, were real flesh and blood heroes and heroines; men and women with "like passions" with ourselves. We must look at them again. If they were indeed weak humans like ourselves, then may you and I become like them? In order to become like them, we must put the same FAITH principle to work in our lives. Faith is a choice, determination, believing in something greater than circumstance. Faith is seeing beyond the tangible. Faith is living by a different value system. Faith is being willing to look ridiculous. Faith is taking a risk; gives you the courage to stand alone. Faith connects us to God. Ordinary people are empowered to perform extraordinary feats. Peter, a faltering apostle, is empowered to address multitudes, Acts 2:14. God raised up C.M.A. starting it through one man, Henry F. Redman. There came a day, twelve years ago this month, when God called him home. Many people wondered if the organization would continue. I can say to the glory of God that the work goes on to reach the unreached. There is still a job to be done to help usher the King back. I do not profess to understand God's ways and His reasons for doing things, but it is not necessary that I do. God is never dependent on any one man. No man is indispensable in God's work. When Moses died, God did not need another Moses, but a man with other gifts and abilities. So it is that God may vary His workmen, but His work will continue because it is His work and not ours. I can look back from the beginning days of our pastorlng, when we were young and our children were small, to see how God was preparing and teaching a life of faith. God knew, way back then, the position and responsibility that I would be in today. To be responsible for thousands of dollars to set up the Training Seminars all over the world plus hundreds of dollars for monthly support to our national missionaries is indeed staggering. It is truly a life of FAITH.THE DOOR OF OPPORTUNITY OPENS IN PERUIf you feel lead to help with this project, please mark your check: Peru . It will be greatly appreciated. It is people like you that back us with your prayers and your finances that make the work through C.M.A. possible. If you are not a partner, please pray about becoming one. We desperately need to hear from you during these summer months when finances have a tendency to be down. |
