FULFILLING THE GREAT COMMISSION

"Also I heard the voice of the Lord saying, whom shall I send, and who will go four us? Then said I, here am I; send me."  Isaiah 6:8

It is interesting to study the setting in which this voice was heard.  First, King Uzziah, Isaiah's uncle, a great man, is dead.  So he got his eyes and hopes off of temporal, passing things.  Secondly, he saw a vision, the Lord on the throne, high and lifted up.  Third, he saw himself, woe is me for I am undone.  Fourth, a cleansing fire from the alter of God had touched his lips.  And after this, I heard the voice of the Lord.  This tells us that our eyes must be lifted up, that we must have vision, that we must have cleansing and that we must have a commission that is birthed by God.  From the depths of his spirit he cried, "Here am I, send me."

This is a principle that holds true wherever men are successful in carrying out the great commission of the Lord Jesus Christ.  We find an example in the New Testament, Acts 9, where we see a proud Pharisee lying in the road, on his back, blinded by the Glory of God and he saw the Lord, heard a voice and got a commission and the question of his life was; Lord what would you have me to do? In travels across this world today, I see these principles carried out in my generation in the lives of men and women.  Some will go, others will stay behind and support those that are out there.  I believe it is possible to evangelize the world in my generation.  When you look at it from the outward standpoint, it seems impossible, but in all four of the Gospels and the book of Acts, the great commission is stated in one way or another.  I do not believe that Jesus gave us a commission and a job to do that cannot be done.  But it could well be that we will have to have our vision enlarged.  More than one half of the world's population have never heard the Gospel.  A few years ago, the statistics revealed that approximately 91% of all the sharing of the Gospel is to less than 7% of the population of the world.

We have a lot to live up to today, for the evangelization of the world is still the direct responsibility of every believer.  The post-resurrection commission, "Go..." is not optional, but rather it is an imperative command.  Every Christian must find a way individually, and in co-operation with others, to carry the message of the Kingdom of God to all the world.  The Church has unquestionably lost sight of its divine purpose.  When believers will submerge their individual purposes and begin to bend every effort to fulfill the great post-resurrection commission to making Christ known to all people, then the Church will fulfill its true mission in the world.

LIMA, PERU LADIES SEMINAR, NOVEMBER 9, 1998

This is our first time to conduct a ladies seminar in Peru.  We will be working with Pastor Robert Barriger of Lima.

In July 1988, we were privileged to teach and train 150 Peruvian pastors in Ayacucho, Peru.  Ayacucho was then under a state of emergency because of "Shining Path Terrorists".  The people there lived under constant fear.  During the Guerrilla war, many Christians were killed and suffered great persecutions.  My late Husband, Henry Redman, held a Training Center in June 1982 in Santa Rosa, Peru.  It was the first Training Center ever held among the Quechua Indians.  Sixteen of these workers were among those killed by terrorists.

Many of the Peruvian women are abused and then put out on the street with no place to go.  They have very low self-esteem.  This is why it is such a privilege to teach these ladies how special they are to God.

Please pray about sowing seeds into this seminar that will reap great benefits.  Thank you for enabling us to go.  Please designate your check "seminar".

Your financial contributions toward travel expenses for the seminars are greatly appreciated. Please designate on your check the seminar you wish to help with.
