REDMAN FAMILY NEWS UPDATE

"As for me, this is my covenant with them," says the Lord. "My Spirit, who is on you, and my words that I have put in your mouth will not depart from your mouth, or from the mouths of your children, or from the mouths of their descendants from this time on and forever," says the Lord.
                                                                                                            Isaiah 59:21 NIV

It was such a precious time in having my family home over the Christmas holidays.  It had been 11 years since we had been together at Christmas time.  My son Don, his wife Gwen and their girls (Jessie 13 & Angel 11) from Ormond Beach, FL, Don's son Chris, his wife Patricia and two sons (Adam 4 & Caleb 2) from New Orleans, my daughter Shirley and her husband Bill from Hominy, OK and my mother were all here.  Shirley's two children, Dionne and Marc and their families from St. Louis were unable to be with us and Don's oldest daughter Alisha and her husband Danny who are in the Air Force were also not able to come.

My mother has been in the nursing home for the past 3 years.  She will turn 93 this month and still has a sharp mind and is able to get around in her wheel chair.  She is very content in the nursing home.  I have so much to be thankful for.                                                                                                                                           Helen Redman

NEWS FROM THE PEN OF CHRIS REDMAN

Patricia, Adam, Caleb and myself are doing very well.  1998 has been a tremendous experience for us.  During this past year, I was called to pastor a Mission Church outside of New Orleans, LA.  I'm still attending seminary and my wife began working on her college degree full time.  It is wonderful to see the progress that we have made and are making now.

Please be praying for our church.  We have voted to change the name to "River Edge Community Church".  We are averaging about 11 people at this time.  Our building will seat over 150 in the sanctuary and we are surrounded by a community of nearly 40,000.  I have seen God work in this church over the past months and know that God will do a great work here in 1999.  God has sent me a tremendous staff of volunteer, bi-vocational ministers, and seminary students to work in music, child and adult education, and outreach. We are planning a "Grand Opening" for a new church, a new ministry, and a new vision on March 7, 1999.  Be praying as God will begin again to build and establish His church at Violet, Louisiana.

PRETORIA, S. AFRICA, MARCH 10-22, 1999

I will be working with Pastor Vivian Pieterse of The Door Fellowship that Pastor C.F. du Toit is the founder.  They have twenty-two pastors and local churches working together.  Apart from equipping them for the ministry, they also assist in building their houses and churches.  When a couple starts a new church they assist them until the church can take care of them.  Every year they have a number of young people who are ready to go and start a new work.

I'm very grateful to Pastor Pieterse and Pastor du Toit for the invitation to come and share with the ministry of the "Door Fellowship".  Pastors Lloyd and Regina Blount will accompany me on this trip.

If you could help financially toward the air fare, I would appreciate it, for it takes team work to do the job.

Please designate on your check:  So. Africa.

Thank you so much.
