PERU OUTREACH PROJECT UPDATE

C.M.A. helped plant a church in an unreached area of Cusco Sacred Valley of the Incas in Urubamba, Peru.  Missionary Mike Sehon gives an up to date report of the work as follows...

The work in Urubamba is going well We are averaging about 40 on Sundays now. There seems to be more commitment developing in the hearts of the people.  Saturday nights we are almost always packed out for evangelism night.  We are almost finished with the building project.  If we continue to grow at the rate we are now, we will out grow it soon on Sunday mornings.  We will continue to use the building for office, youth, children and a room for our circuit preacher.

We are also believing God for a piece of ground in town with at least i000 square meters (roughly 9000 square feet).  We have started to look in faith that God will provide.  Please be praying with us about this.

We really appreciate ail of the prayer that has gone up for us.  We can tell that God is answering prayers.  We pray that God will continue to bless each and everyone of you.
His servant and yours,
Pastor Mike Sehon

REPORT FROM CHRIS REDMAN

The week of Aug 9th-13th, River Edge Community Church, where I am currently the pastor, hosted Vacation Bible School for children in our community.  We had a terrific turn out with over 60 kids being ministered to this week.  We had workers from our church and volunteers from at least two other area churches in the New Orleans vicinity.  It was a tremendous success.

Freddie Arnold, a minister of Education, is training leaders within our church to begin a Sunday School ministry in September.  We are staying very active and very busy.  We have seen a steady increase in attendance during Sunday morning worship.  I attribute this directly to our weekly visitation ministry that has been in place since the first of July.

Patricia and I are registering for school and preparing to begin class on Aug. 24th.  Stephen & Margaret George are assisting us with our children while we are in class.  God is good and keeping us very busy.

Lapu-Lapu Philippine Pastors & Ladies Seminar April 2OOO

The ground work is now being laid for CMA Philippine Pastors and Ladies Seminar. Invitations are being sent out to 200 or more delegates. They are coming from Mindanao, Bohol, Leyte, Cebu and Lapu-Lapu City. Delegates from the Tribal churches in the mountains of Surigao del Sur will walk for 4 to 9 hours to catch a bus to the boat terminal. This is another 4 hours by bus and an over night by boat in order to come to the conference. The delegates are making great sacrifices in order to come. CMA pays their one way travel, lodging and food expenses. This will average out to $17.43 per delegate. The total amount needed is $4,000 plus the team travel and motel expenses of another $4,000. CMA is responsible for the total amount of $8,000. I have committed to this project by faith not knowing where the money will come from. This is where our partners can take part by joining the team with financial help and prayers. If you would like to sponsor one or more pastors, please designate your check:  Philippine Seminar 2000.

Thank you in advance for obeying God in doing your part to lighten the load. Remember, there is no dollar value that can be put on a soul.

Your financial contributions toward travel expenses for the seminars are greatly appreciated. Please designate on your check the seminar you wish to help with.

We'd love to hear from you:
