RESTORATION FOR THE FAMILY

It is great to start the new year with hopes, aspirations and dreams.  Solomon expressed it this way: "Hope deferred makes the heart sick, but when the desire comes it is a tree of life." (Prov.13:12 NKJ)

I felt God spoke to me at the beginning of this new year and new millennium: "this is the year of restoration for families."  God gave me a promise on December 20 of 1994 from Jeremiah 31:16-17 NKJ: "...they shall come back from the land of the enemy...your children shall come back to their own border."

When the ark was finally all in readiness just before the great flood descended, the Lord spoke these words to Noah: "...Come into the ark, you and all your household.." (Gen 7:1 NKJ)

One of the features of the last day move of the Spirit of God is family salvation, family restoration and family unity.  If your children are away from home, you can take comfort from the passage in Jeremiah 31:16-17 which assures you they will return.

In the parable, the prodigal son came home.  The modern day prodigals are going to do the same.  The old saying, just as chickens come home to roost and cows come back to the barn at the close of the day, so our children will return to us before  the  final  darkness descends. Believe it and be encouraged.

REDMAN FAMILY UPDATES

I spent the Christmas holidays with Don, Gwen and the girls in Ormond Beach, FL.  Angel is 12 and Jessica is 14.  Angel started playing violin a year ago and has taken to it like a duck to water.  She always enjoys challenges and  has  a  real  gift  of perseverance.  Jessie has been studying voice and guitar.  She had her first recital a few weeks ago.  Gwen plays saxophone in the church orchestra and sings in a quartet.  They recently held a concert in downtown Daytona.  Don  is  developing  a  new generation amphibious vehicle called the TrolleyBoat. The first boat is due for completion this month.  Don & Gwen bought and renovated an estate home over 100 years old.  It is registered in the local historical homes.  They completed the remolding just before Christmas.  Don's oldest daughter and husband, Alisha & Danny, are serving in the Air Force and are stationed in Montana.

NEWS FROM CHRIS REDMAN

December 26th was our last Sunday as pastor of River Edge I Community Church, Violet, LA.  During  the  15  months  of ministry   we   saw   our congregation grow from 4 to 25. We had 2 professions of faith that followed the Lord in water baptism.  We hosted VBS during the summer and saw over 80 children and workers fill our little building and grounds.  I also  had  the  privilege  of licensing a God-called man to preach the gospel.  In addition to these,  God  enabled  us  to complete an extensive interior remodeling program for our Sunday School classrooms, the sanctuary and our kitchen/fellowship hall.  I thank God for all of the victories that we experienced during our ministry and the spiritual maturity that I have experienced from serving this small mission church.  The new year started off with a bang for us.  Things are going well.  Patricia and I are both planning to travel to the Philippines to participate in the Pastors & Ladies Seminar.

SHIRLEY (REDMAN) RANDAL UPDATE

Shirley and Bill are both still working at Conners Correctional Center in Hominy, OK.  Shirley is an officer and Bill is a Captain.  Shirley works the midnight shift and sleeps in the daytime so I don't get to see them very often.  Her daughter Dionne, lives in Pacific, MO and her son Michael will be 7 this month.  Marc (Shirley's son) lives in St. Louis.  He has three children.
