GREETINGS FOR THE NEW MILLENNIUM YEAR OF 2000
For a long time we've seen this year ahead of us in the distance. And now it's here! With it comes a new decade, a new century and a new millennium. We don't have to fear what a new millennium will bring because our God is there ahead of us. We have the assurance
"The land, whither ye go to possess it, is a land of hills and valleys, and drinketh water of the rain of heaven: A land which the Lord they God careth for: the eyes of the Lord they God are always upon it, from the beginning of the year even unto the end of the year".
(Deut. 11:11,12)
As we stand at the threshold of a new year, a new century, a new millennium, the excitement of new beginnings is in the air. Every year, every day, in every aspect of our lives, God is at work renewing, reviving, making new. For me personally, it is special to cross the big milestone of turning 70 years old (January 25) at the turn of the new century and at the beginning of the new millennium. I want to live the rest of my life to the fullest for Him and to give it the best I've got. David the psalmist said,
"Thy youth is renewed like eagle's".
I accept that promise. Greater days are ahead!
REPORT FROM PERU MIKE SEHON SACRED VALLEY
We rejoice in what the Lord has been doing in our midst. It is hard for me to gather all of this together and put it on paper. First of all we have finally been able to locate another building for our Sunday services in Urubamba. It is the Teacher's Hall located only a half block from the Plaza! With this building, we have the ability to grow to approximately 120 people. I believe with this added space, we will soon see another spurt of growth.
We will continue to use the smaller building for our other services. Just four weeks ago we also started our youth service on Saturday afternoons and we are already seeing about twenty in attendance! I know that the Lord will continue to draw and save many of the young people here. Please continue to lift them up in prayer. The brother that is guiding our youth services is named Jhon (pronounced John). Please lift him up also for strength and health.
This past Sunday we were blessed to baptize five of our teens that have been saved through the youth meetings. These are the direct fruits of your prayer and financial support! We also did our first wedding Sunday after morning service. This couple has been living together for years, and have three children. The blessing was that I didn't know this. They took their own initiative to come tell me and wanted to do what was right in the sight of God! God still changes lives! You have to remember that no one in our church in Urubamba is more than one year old in the Lord! All 40 are showing a real hunger for the Lord.
I wanted to thank everyone and let them know that God has answered the prayers of His people. We brought Toni to have a pelvic sonagram and they could not find anything! This was after being examined and the Doctor seeing the polyp. Toni said that the Doctor doing the sonagram looked "bafled" and wanted the first Doctor to reexamine her because he looked for almost an hour and there was nothing!!! As soon as we have the final report, we will send Out an e-mail. Continue to believe with us until this is over. We praise God and thank all of you.
In Christ, Pastor Mike Sehon
A MESSAGE FROM DON COOPER DATED 11/30/99 CUSCO, PERU
If you read USA Today two days ago you saw that Peru is planning big religious celebrations for the change of the new year. Some of you already know that Cusco is the Spiritual capital for witches and the New Age Movement in the entire world. They are now congregating here preparing for the new millennium. We are already experiencing the effects of these attacks and ask for your help in prayer.
