REDMAN FAMILY NEWS UPDATE

"As for me, this is my covenant with them" says the Lord.  "My spirit, who is on you, and my words that I have put in your mouth will not depart from your mouth, or from the mouths of your children, or from the mouths of their descendants from this time on and forever." Says the Lord.  ISA. 59:31. NIV

On December 19th, 1 flew to Atlanta, GA to spend Christmas holidays with my grandson Chris and his wife Patricia and their two boys, Caleb 4 and Adam 6.  In mid afternoon on Christmas day we drove to Savannah, GA to spend the night with Patricia's parents on our way to my son Don's in Ormond Beach, FL.

I spent the week after Christmas with Don, Gwen and their two girls Jessica is now 15 years old and taking drivers education.  She is a very good driver, taking me to Wal-Mart, etc. Angel is 13 years old.  Both girls had planned on going to Haiti with me but Angel will be going with her church group to Rome about the same time.

Helen, Alisha (Don's oldest daughter) and her husband have been stationed in GT Falls, MT in the Air Force.  Danny is getting out of the service in a few months so Alisha is coming back home (Atlanta, GA) to find a job and a place for them to live.

The holidays were very special just being with my family.  I trust each of you had a wonderful holiday as well.

On December 24th, Chris received a wonderful Christmas gift from the Woodville Baptist Church in Woodville, GA by calling to inform him they had voted him in as their new pastor. Chris and Patricia took me to see the church and parsonage.  The church was established in 1886.  It is in a beautiful setting with stained glass windows and a four bedroom parsonage. Woodville is a small country town with 500 in population.  The first church Chris's grandfather and I started out with was in a small store front building.  I'm sure his grandfather would be very proud.

On Saturday, January 6th eight men drove two hours to Woodstock, GA and loaded up a U-Haul truck with aIl of our earthly possessions and brought them to a lovely four bedroom parsonage near the church.  They unloaded while the ladies of the church brought food and supplies over.  On Sunday, January 7th, I preached my first sermon in the church as pastor.  I joked with the congregation that I had made a commitment to lose 20 pounds and drop two pant sizes.  I told them that with all the dessert in the house, I was certain that I would not lose any weight this month.

The church is overwhelmingly supportive of me.  I know that this, is a tremendous opportunity.  God has great things in store for us.

Chris' new address is:  1080 S. Chestnut ST, Woodville, GA 30669

My son Don is doing incredibly well physically, 6 1/2 years after his accident.  Praise God there has been no paralysis and he is still improving.   He is involved in juvenile offender and prison ministry.  Don and Gwen went to the juvenile center in Daytona where Gwen sang for their Christmas party and had the opportunity to witness the Gospel.  Gwen is also involved in singing with a quartet and playing the saxophone with a praise team.  She continues to home school the girls, which she began three years ago.  Jessi and Angel stay busy with music and school.  They started playing in a youth orchestra in the fall.  They also attend an "in-house University" study program at their church.

My daughter Shirley is an officer and her husband Bill Randal is a captain at Conner Correctional center in Hominy, OK.  Shirley's children Dionne and Marc live in ST Louis, MO.  Dionne's seven year old son Michael comes to visit me and his Grandma Randal every summer.  Marc has three children.
