FAITH Vs. FEAR

The morning of the tragic crash of the World Trade Center, I was in Litchfield, IL speaking with a group of young and old that was preparing to leave in teams that week for various countries for mission work.  They had completed their training under Latter Rain Ministries, Gwen Davis President.  One team consisting of young people were going to Sudan.  There was no fear, nothing but faith.  Their faith didn't stand in the wisdom of man, but the power of God.  My heart was stirred.  I was reminded of Proverbs 18:10:  "The name of the Lord is a strong tower; the righteous runneth into it, and is safe."

Later on in the week on Pat Robinson's TV program, he was interviewing a young man that survived the World Trade Center tragedy.  He was a Christian and kept repeating "in the name of Jesus".  He asked others if they were Christians and to do the same.  Because of this several survived.

REPORTS FROM OUR MISSIONARIES
C.M.A. supports missionaries around the world on a monthly basis.  The following reports are from two of them.  Be sure to check out our website for more information on their work.

HARVEST OF LOVE MINISTRIES
Doug & Trina Nance
www.harvestofloveministries.com
We have just completed a wonderful time of ministry.  We were scheduled to be at the Ava Missionary Baptist Church on September 9th for both services.  In the evening service the power of God broke through which sparked a continuation of meetings for 10 days.  PTL!

Here is a quote from Pastor Kent Eaton, "There has been a lot of excitement at our church these past 10 days.  Many have received Christ as Lord and Savior and have been baptized in water.  Many of the members have come to me and said this is the strongest move of God they have experienced in their lives.  I appreciate Bro. Doug Nance and his wife Trina in ushering in the Spirit."

Many people as they testified in the services said they will never be the same.  That is what it is all about.  II Cor. 3:18 says, "But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord."

We give God all the Glory for what He is doing around the world and even here in America.

ERIC & DEBORAH KURFMAN
MISSION WORK IN JAPAN
We were able to start another class of our basic Bible study.  This time we had two brand new Christians and three "older" believers that have come from other churches.  One of the MOST amazing things is that so many who "call" themselves believers in Japan are TOTALLY unaware of what the Bible teaches about sin, repentance, idolatry or walking in the Holy Spirit AFTER they get "saved".

Taeko, joined our Bible Study 2/3 of the way through.  As we studied she realized she had never truly repented of her sins.  Taeko was born into the Kingdom of God!!  She was baptized August 5th.  Her family has fought against her decision, but she refused to give in and THEY have already begun to change!

Letter received from Fay Sickler
KENYA
There is an interesting incident that occurred about 200 miles north of here.  The Tana River begins at the foothills of Mt. Kenya and flows to the Indian Ocean.  The people living beside the river are the ethnic Pokomos.  However, from farther north there are smaller tribes called the Wagala and Orma.  They are Muslims and a fighting people who can suddenly decide to attack the farmer (Pokomo) living beside the river.  There has been a drought and when the river has some water, but is not dry, unrest comes in and there can be trouble.  The Pokomo people are Christians.  Recently the Ormas decided to attack the village where one of the preachers of our organization was having a meeting.  His house is near the church.  The meeting closed and the preacher was there.  The invaders robbed him and with their spears raised they announced they were going to kill him.  Apparently, their hands froze and were unable to strike forward.  He stood bravely and without fear.  The bandits looked at him and then left.  His wife heard it all in their house and was praying.  To me, that was a miracle.  The bandits were unable to kill him.  We serve a great God!  The preacher still lives and preaches.
