GREAT SUCCESS From the very first day, God smiled and put His blessings upon the seminar. There were 87 ladies present, 100 total with the workers. My teaching was titled "Don't Quit, Your Faith Will See You Through". Carol Schlosser from Belleville, IL spoke the 2nd day on "Prayer" which was a real blessing to the ladies. This was Carol's first mission trip out of the country. She fell in love with the Haitian women and the Burch's. Carol is looking forward to going back, in spite of the heat and no air conditioning or hot water for showers. Bill & Marlene Burch are suffering from the "empty nest". Seven of the eight Haitian boys are now grown men ready to try their wings on their own. Only one of the boys is staying with the mission. The Burch's are to be commended in raising such young men of stature. God speaks to the Haitian women a lot through visions and dreams. Following are testimonies given by some of the women and Marlene & Carol. Sis. Estela: She went up the mountain, had a heavy basket, felt she could not make it. Someone was there and showed her the road to take. It would be the right road. Then she saw the cliff. od had shown her the right road. She would not fall off the cliff. Madam Joel: requested prayer to conceive a child. We prayed for God to open her womb. She returned the next day...what a smile! Sis. Germaine: I had a problem of faith. I was climbing a mountain, 2 cars came in front of me. I threw them over a cliff. I feel my God showed me the strength I could have. Sis. Delia: I came here yesterday, my feet were hurting after they prayed for me last night my feet were not hurting. I dreamed the yard was full of mixed chickens laying eggs. I picked up the eggs and put them in a basket. Someone tried to take my eggs. I said you can't have my eggs. The eggs represent my blessings. Madam Fito: I thank God for what He has done. I closed my eyes to pray and I felt lifted up in the spirit and still feel that way today. Marlene Burch: How blessed we were to have you with us again. The two day seminar was a great encouragement to the ladies. Many of them came many miles each day. God did some great and marvelous things. After you spoke on "Don't Quit..." they seemed to look for new strength. As several stated, they felt like giving up but Praise God! after they heard the Word of God, they knew they could make it. Thanks for coming and bringing Sis. Carol with you. Carol Schlosser: I was blessed to go to Haiti with Sis. Helen. The ladies that attended the meetings had a lot of needs and God was there to meet them. I spoke about waiting on God in prayer and taught a new song. The ladies kept singing it after we had stopped. PARAGUAY LADIES SEMINAR May 11-20, 2002This is a new door of opportunity in Latin America for us. Sis. Lurie Dantin and I will be with Richard & Eloise Gwinn of Alma Ministries to hold their first ladies seminar. Richard is one of our sons in the ministry that grew up under our leadership while pastoring in E. St. Louis, IL.
