The environment of this Psalm is strong. The sun is down. The stars are hid. The waters are out. The roads are broken up. And in the very midst of the darkness and desolation one hears the triumphant cry of the psalmist, "In the Lord put I my trust." The singer is a soul in difficulty. He is the victim of relentless antagonists that tried to persuade him to seek safety in flight. But full of unshaken faith in God, he rejects their counsel, believing that Jehovah the righteous King, though he tries his servants, does not forsake them. The Godly have faith as a shield to protect them from the arrows of darkness. PsalmsIn Psalm 28:6-7 the psalmist gives praise for anticipated deliverance, Blessed be Jehovah! For he has heard the voice of my supplication. Jehovah is my strength and my shield! My heart trusted in Him, and I am helped. In all my Christian life, how many times have I ran to the Lord when in the midst of darkness and desolation, the road would be so rough I would think I could never make it and cry out to the Lord, "In the Lord put I my trust." He always brings me out on the other side of the mountain with a song in my heart. Sing His PraisesI have just passed the 16th anniversary of being a widow and having the responsibility of the mission work. I find myself praying daily as the psalmist, "In the Lord put I my trust." In all the 16 years, He has never failed me! Sometimes He waits till the llth hour but never comes through too late.LABASA - Fiji IslandsTwo years ago I was invited to Labasa by Marion Male of Northern Christian Training Center to hold a ladies seminar. I was very impressed with the work in training the young people. Marion bought land to build a youth training center. I've invited her and her friend Jo Miller of New Zealand to come to the states as my guest for 3 months. They will travel among the churches to raise funds and will encourage pastors to send short term teams to help build the Bible School. This is their first time in the states. I am setting up Marion's itinerary. If any pastor or if you know any pastor that would be interested in having Marion come to your church, please call this office. September and October are pretty well booked but November is open. Please note...CMA not only holds ladies seminars in 3rd world countries, we support monthly to other missionaries in 6 different countries plus pledge heavily in mission conferences toward other missionaries around the world. During the summer months finances have a tendency to be down. In order to meet our monthly obligations we desperately need you to stand behind us with your support and prayers (especially during these summer months). The load is heavy. It takes team work to get the job done.God bless and have a great summer. |
