HAPPY NEW YEAR 2003"The land, whither ye go to possess it, is a land of hills and valley and drinketh water of the rain of heaven: a land which the Lord thy God careth for: The eyes of the Lord are always upon it, from the beginning of the year even unto the end of the year." Deut. 11:11-12 As we enter the new year, we stand at the threshold of our untried tomorrows. As we go in to possess the land, it is a land of hills and valleys. Isa. 40:4-5 tells us that every valley shall be exalted, and every mountain and hill shall be made low and the glory of the Lord shall be revealed, and all flesh shall see it together: for the mouth of the Lord hath spoken it. We do not know what changes will come, what new needs shall arise, but there is one consolation, "The Lord thy God careth for it from the beginning of the year even unto the end of the year", and the glory of the Lord shall be revealed. It shall be a good and blessed New Year! We can say with Paul ...."Forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press toward the mark".... Phil. 3:13-14 A prayer was given by Arthur Gordon, "Lord, as I face the New Year, help me to reach out to the challenging future, not look back to the unchangeable past." This New Year of 2003 is a great challenge for Christian Missionary Association to reach more women in 3rd world countries and to touch lives around the world. I came across some of my late husband's notes taken during a minister's retreat. Pastor Tommy Reid was teaching from Acts 27 & 28 on "The Ultimate Goal Must Be Success". Henry Redman had written out to the side of his notes "C.M.A. must find the unreached, help me to succeed, by Grace alone." I can also say that this is the cry of my heart. Truly the fields are ripe, ready for harvest, but the laborers are few. SURGERY UPDATEFollowing my recent cornea transplant and cataract surgery, the Dr. has given me a good report and has cut back on visits to him. He said I would be free to travel overseas by May. That made me happy.Thank you for standing behind us with your prayers and love. LADIES SEMINARS FOR 2003I was scheduled for the Philippines in May, but due to the political situation I felt in my spirit to postpone it. A new door has opened for Eqtoes, Ecuador, I will go there in May instead.We need your help toward the travel expense. Please pray and ask God what he would have you do. It takes team work to get the job done. Wishing you all the happiness that a prosperous and successful New Year can bring |
