The year of 2005 was highly blessed for our family with many miracles taking place. The first one of the year was January 25th on my 75th birthday. My daughter Shirley who was estranged from me for close to 7 years and living just 23 miles away called to wish me a Happy 75th Birthday. It was the best birthday present I ever had or ever will. Our relationship has bonded since that night as Mother and daughter. She and her husband Bill invited me to their home for Thanksgiving and they spent Christmas day at my house along with Marc (Shirley’s son) and his girlfriend. Bill and Shirley both agree that the best thing that has happened in the past year is that their love for each other has grown stronger and ties with the family has grown. Bill stated that “Life without a family is a poor life. Love and fellowship with the hand of God blended in, creates the most wonderful feelings.” The past 8 years have been the most wonderful stepping stones of their lives with many more to come. They feel blessed with 5 children (2 daughters, 3 sons) and the most wonderful of all, their grandchildren and their great grandmother. Who could ask for anything more. Marc works for the city of Hominy, OK and his children Seth, Genelle and Erin live in St. Louis. Shirley’s daughter, Dionne and her son Mike also live in St. Louis. Mike comes every summer to spend time with me and his Grandma Shirley and Grandpa Bill. It’s hard to believe he will turn 13 years old next month. Don, Gwen and the girls just moved to their new home in Deland, FL which is 30 miles from where they were in Ormond Beach. Last year for Don and his business was a rough one, with some unforeseen events but he feels strongly this year will be different. Gwen still sings for special events. She and Angel are doing more gigs together as time goes on. They provided music recently for a Women of Grace Conference. Jessie is working as a nanny full time and loves it. She received her Associates Degree as well as her aesthetician state license and will continue pursuing a degree in Business/Marketing. Angel works full time as secretary for Nero computers and is also attending college full time. She graduated Salutatorian of the International Baccalaureate Program at her high school last May with a 4.7 GPA and nearly 2 years of college credits. She recently committed her life to the Lord and was baptized. It was a mountaintop moment and an amazing reawakening for the whole family. Alisha, Don’s daughter is doing very well and staying busy of course, as most of the Redman’s do. With her Bookkeeping business doubling in size over the past year it doesn’t leave a lot of room but to take up her spare time she seems to always be working on house projects to raising her Rottweiler “Children”. She raises three full grown Rottweiler’s and has a litter due any day now. Also, Alisha got married on December 30th to a very nice young man named Kyle. He treats her well, works hard, and is very supportive of her entrepreneurship. We welcome Kyle to the family! They are living in Dallas, GA. Chris, Don’s son and his wife Patricia have taken on the pastorate of the North Peninsula Baptist Church in Ormond Beach, FL. The boys are enrolled in a Christian School. They are doing well in school and are studying Latin as part of their curriculum. Patricia works for a Christian Day Spa. The family is doing well and is excited about what the Lord has done for them. ERGENT NEEDThe dates of this seminar was just confirmed a week ago. By faith I said yes, not knowing where the $6,000 was coming from and then I was told the money was needed ahead of time to pay in setting up the seminar. I know it is God that has opened new doors and I know it takes team work to do the job. We desperately need you, our partners, to be part of the team in helping to lift the load of this tremendous need. It is impossible for one person to carry all the load. Together we can make a difference in women’s lives around the world.SPECIAL NOTE: The Mexico seminar is scheduled for April 25—May 2nd If you would like to help toward either of these seminars, please mark your check accordingly. |
