The year of 2006 was highly blessed for our family. It was a busy year for all of us. I had the privilege of spending the Thanksgiving holiday with my son Don and his family in Florida and visiting for a time in my grandson Chris’ home. I had a wonderful Christmas Day in my home with my daughter Shirley, husband Bill, family and friends. As Bill says, you can only have a great Christmas when the Lord is involved. After all, it is His birthday we are celebrating. I had ladies seminars in Mexico, Romania and Moldova plus traveled to mission conferences in the states and of course had office work to keep up with. My daughter Shirley asked me when was I going to retire since I hit my 77th birthday. But how do you retire when the fields are ripe and ready to harvest and the laborers are so few? Besides, the mission work is what keeps me going. Don is still developing his Trolley Boats project. Things are looking brighter there—long time coming. He also recently obtained his insurance license and is preparing to pursue part time sales in that industry which appears to be blooming. Gwen is pursuing Mary Kay and music full time. Her website is MaryKay.com/gredman if you ever need anything. Jessie and Angel both are in college. Jess has her AA and was accepted into the nursing program to complete her RN. She also has her esthetician’s license which she hopes to combine with her RN to open a medical spa one day. She also is engaged to be married to Justin Huckaby February of 2008, a young man she has known since grade school. He is in the Marine Corps—for the last 3+ years of which 2 tours were served in Iraq. He is scheduled to be discharged next Fall. Angel has just completed her AA and is pursuing a degree in journalism. She and her mother have been getting a lot of opportunities to perform for various musical events. She also has started to write some original songs (which are beginning to be incorporated into their repertoire). Chris (Don’s son), Patricia and the boys live in Ormond Beach, FL. Chris is still pastoring. Their church is stable and unified. Adam is 12 years old, tall and lean. Caleb is 10 years old and adventurous. They are both doing well in Christian school. Patricia joined a rowing club and is training to compete in rowing competitions around FL and sometimes out of state. Alisha (Don’s daughter) and husband Kyle (married one year) live in Dallas, GA and is developing a winning relationship. She has hung up her rottweiler breading for a new and exciting position with a well known contractor in the Atlanta area. Kyle is working steadily on obtaining his electrical license and plans to have his own business. They have made an excellent match and Kyle treats Alisha like a little princess, as it should be. My daughter Shirley and husband Bill purchased land near Keystone Lake in Oklahoma (close to Hominy where they live now) for retirement and purchased a 5th wheel to do some traveling when Shirley retires in 2 years. Bill was notified that he had cancer in the left lung and is waiting for a surgery date from the doctor. My grandson Marc (Shirley’s son) lives in Hominy, OK and purchased land there and has put a mobile home on it. He works for the City of Hominy. His children live in St. Louis. My granddaughter Dionne (Shirley’s daughter) and son Mike live in St. Louis but she is considering moving to OK this year. |
