REPORT--LADIES SEMINAR
LIRA, UGANDA, AFRICA

This is the first ladies seminar ever held in all of northern Uganda. It was ordained of God from the very beginning, two years ago when Pastor James Oonyu invited me to come.
I gave him a date for 2007 and much preparation went into making the seminar
a great success with God’s blessing.
The following testimony from Bro. James Oonyu is just one of many
that will follow in future newsletters.

I thank God for enabling the first Christian women conference to take place in Lira through the generous support of Christian Missionary Association. It is such a great joy for me to see His purpose fulfilled in one of the most underserved areas in Uganda where communities are struggling to recover from the 21 year old war between the government of Uganda and the rebels of the Lord’s Résistance Army (LRA).
During the two (2) years of planning and making arrangements for this mission with Rev. Helen Redman, I have been confronted with very tough challenging situations designed by the enemy to block the mission.
Just to mention one most trying moment I went through during the climax of our preparations for Lira conference in February and March 2007, my family was attacked by evil spirits which burnt eleven (11) houses (grass thatched houses/huts) at home, one after the other for a period of two months. It also kept destroying and burning household property, beating and stoning people at home, putting dirty money to the food being cooked and the worst intimidating moment is when it started burning the clothes on the bodies of the people at home. This situation tried to distract me and my family for a period of two month in a number of ways but we thank God for enabling us stand in prayer and follow His will. As I speak now, the destructive work of the evil spirits has been rendered powerless and I am involved in planting a Church in this remote village.
The May 2007 Christian Missionary Association Mission in Uganda, is a remarkable achievement towards the building of the church of Christ in the country. The ministry team of the Mission (Reverend Helen Redman, Pastor Lloyd and Regina Blount) put God first in their ministry and allowed Him to make the word alive. They were committed and humbled before God and this enabled them deliver the right message Uganda needs. The message was timely and powerful in the Lira Women’s conference, Mbale Revival conference and in Joint Christian Effort Church in Entebbe.
They spread the living word, preached the word of hope and deliverance, and taught leadership based on the 10 Ms (Manhood, Ministry, Message, Maturity, Marriage, Methods, Manners, Money, Morality and Motive). Their word was anointed by the power of the Holy Spirit and this saw many lives touched and delivered.
On behalf of the Life Resource Gift Union (LIREGU) and its local partners in Uganda, I thank God for the mission team of Christian Missionary Association for the great sacrifice they made to come and minister in Uganda. This appreciation too goes to the WILLING HEARTS of the people of United States of America (USA) who supported this mission though Christian Missionary Association.
Thank you for:
...Participating in building the Church of Christ in Uganda.
...Feeding us both spiritually and physically.
...Catering for accommodation needs of 317 women who stayed at the conference venue in Lira with a total attendance of 530 women.
...Catering for the transport needs and all other needs that would have failed this mission.
Above all, I give glory to God the Almighty. He is clearly beyond our complete understanding. His will always prevails; His purposes are always fulfilled (Isaiah 46:10).
AMEN!

Oonyu James
Chairman
The Life Resource Gift Union (LIREGU)
