SAMAR PHILIPPINES WOMEN'S SEMINAR REPORT Pastors Lloyd & Regina Blount and I flew to Cebu City. We were met by Pastor Robert and Sarah Cuenca. Pastor Lloyd ministered in their church on Sunday morning, May 4th. That evening Pastor Robert & Sarah accompanied us for a 12 hour boat ride to Samar. This was an experience in itself. People were jammed on the boat sleeping in an open area on row after row of stacked bunk beds. (see picture to the right)There were only 3 cabins on the whole boat. We were blessed to get 2 of them. One cabin slept 4 and the other which used to be the Captain's cabin was mine. It was the only cabin with a toilet and sink so everyone came through my room to use it. Coming back it was a different boat. Ellen Javillo and her daughter, Jemima (my Philippine family) came back with us. We had 5 in one cabin. Pastor Lloyd and Regina were in the other one.The seminar was a great success with 160 women in attendance from different areas of Samar. This was the first women’s seminar ever held there. Pastor Danny & Cita Montes hosted the seminar. Pastor Danny was also our interpreter. Following are testimonies from the women who attended. More testimonies will be in next months newsletter. “This seminar has truly brought me into a higher level in my walk with God. I now have that confidence that I am special in the Kingdom of God; that I am a chosen vessel to be used for the glory of God. As an empowered woman of God, I now have the boldness to do what God wants me to accomplish. I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” Alva Ma. A. Gadin “As a pastor’s wife, I knew that I had to help my husband in the ministry God has put us into. But I was more focused on my secular work. I worked hard to be promoted to increase my salary. Because I though money is more important than my personal involvement. But God told me in this seminar that He had given me power and wisdom to get “wealth” and that I must balance my time between leadership, ministry and work. Give more time to Him because He will supply everything our ministry needs if I do so. Glory be to Jesus for this revelation.” Sis. Becky “I am blessed because now I feel the presence of God moving inside of me. God has a plan for me; to my church and to my family. I have learned through this seminar what is meant by vision as a Christian and how to love each other. Thanks to all the speakers and may God bless us all.” Anonymous |
