I received a Macedonia call for help from Pastor Jun Javillo in the Spring of 1989 to hold a training seminar for pastors and leaders of Mindanao. I had been praying God would open new doors not realizing this would be the beginning of many doors opening up all over the big Island of Mindanao. I held seminars there each year for several years and then every other year. During those first years, a son was born to Bro. Jun & Ellen. They named him little Henry after my late husband even though they had never meet him and only knew of him through his book, “The Road Not Taken”. A year and a half later they had a baby girl that they named little Helen. Both of our name sake children are now teenagers. Henry is in college and Helen graduates next year from what we would call high school. The Javillo’s also have two older girls who have both graduated from college. Education in 3rd World countries is very different from the states. Grade levels and the number of years spent in school differs greatly. It costs money to send children to school even though the amount in comparison to the states is very little, it is a lot to them. Several years ago, Pastor Jun Javillo went into a deep state of depression and has not been able to work since that time. The only support the family gets is from CMA which isn’t enough to support the family needs which also includes the children’s education fees. In addition, Ellen’s Mother is living with them as well. The family is in great need financially. They are behind on their lot payment causing interest to be added on each month and they are unable to pay their electric. We all know what it’s like having to pay bills each month and sometimes not having enough, but can you imagine living on $275.00 a month with a family of 7? Please pray about helping the Javillo family on a monthly basis or with a one time donation above and beyond your regular CMA support. Any amount given will be a blessing to this family and will go directly to them through CMA. Please note on your check: Javillo or Philippine Family.
FROM THE MESSAGE (MSG)
When you happen on someone who's in trouble or needs help among your people with whom you live in this land that GOD, your God, is giving you, don't look the other way pretending you don't see him. Don't keep a tight grip on your purse. No. Look at him, open your purse, lend whatever and as much as he needs. Don't count the cost. Don't listen to that selfish voice saying, "It's almost the seventh year, the year of All-Debts-Are-Canceled," and turn aside and leave your needy neighbor in the lurch, refusing to help him. He'll call GOD's attention to you and your blatant sin.
