TESTIMONY FROM THE PHILIPPINES

BY ELLEN JAVILLO

In 1989, my husband Jun, wrote to Bro. Henry Redman who was the president of CMA (not knowing he was deceased) inviting him to the Philippines. In that year CMA conducted the first seminar in the Philippines in the town of Ipil Zamboanga Del Sur through the leadership of Sis. Helen Redman since Bro. Henry Redman passed away in 1986. For several years following there were many seminars in different places including Mindanao and Visayas.

In 1995 big trials came to our life because Jun experienced depression. He had to leave his ministry because he was not able to do it and longer. I decided to go back to Davao in 1996 because my parents and Jun’s two sisters lived there. He stayed helpless for more than ten years. During that time I took the responsibilities of a father and mother to my four children. I also experienced difficulties and trials in my life. But thank God, through His strength and grace I overcame all and survived. Sis. Helen and CMA remained faithful through their prayers and financially support.

In 2004, I was hospitalized and in that same year underwent thyroid surgery. God spared my life. Jun was still not restored at that time. In 2008, I was again hospitalized because of heart problems. Still Sis. Helen and CMA was there with us. She’s a part of our family.

In February of this year, Jun went to Dumaguete with my brother-in-law to stay for a change in environment and restoration. He is now participating in the ministry and helping Pastor Lloyd Cuaresma (my brother-in-law) in their ministry. He really has a desire to minister to the people and serve God. I know God has a purpose for his life.

All during Jun’s illness I never gave up on God even through many hardships. I am also taking care of my Mother now and we need to renovate our home. Our vision is to put concrete on it.

My two elder daughters have already finished college. Junellen has finished the course of computer science and Jemima has finished the course of elementary education. They are both working and helping the family financially although it is not enough to support all the family needs.

Henry is now in his 3rd year of college. His tuition fee per semester is $225 plus other fees which include monthly allowance, travel fare, projects, and weekly computer usage. Helen will start college this school year and her tuition and other fees will be about the same as Henry’s. This amount is for a 5 month period.

I know God is alive and would never leave us nor forsake us. I really experienced the goodness and faithfulness of God in our family. My family is grateful to all who have helped us in our times of need. May God will richly bless you.

If you would like to help with Henry and Helen’s college tuition and fees or help with home improvements, please designate on your check “Philippine Family”.

Your financial contributions toward travel expenses for the seminars are greatly appreciated.  Please designate on your check the seminar you wish to help with.
