THANKSGIVING GREETINGS

GOD'S WORKING IN THE LIVES OF MEN
BY DONALD REDMAN
CMA VICE-PRESIDENT

I recently experienced the most difficult times in my life. God uses these difficulties to get our attention and bring us back to our foundational beliefs. As I prayed unlike any previous time, wanting to understand what purpose there was to these heartaches and difficulties, I became aware that God is more interested in our character than our comfort. As I reflected on my life, I realized that my primary role as a Christian was one of a spectator and not a participant for the cause of Christ. I became painfully aware that my priorities had been dysfunctional and that I wanted the blessing of Christ without the sacrifice of service. Like myself, many other Christians live their lives without the true commitment of service to others. Feeling that the sacrifice is going to church or giving in the offering, when in reality these are the opportunities and blessings and not the sacrifice. I felt compelled to get involved in a prison ministry. In September I was able to get involved with Karios of
South Carolina. This organization is an international prison ministry that is committed to the proclamation of the gospel to inmates around the world.
We arrived at the Tyger River Correctional facility at 7:30 AM and stayed until 1:30 PM. During this time, approximately 100 inmates participated in four separate meetings with singing, inmate testimonies and worship led mostly by the inmates themselves. These men came from every type of background that you can imagine. Many had wives and families that they left behind to pay their debt to society and whom they missed dearly.
I was touched and inspired as I listened to the inmate’s testimonies who had accepted Jesus in previous events. They explained their prior lives and how the power of the gospel had transformed them from being spiritually dead to eternally alive! These men spoke with passion and excitement about being Christians. You could feel their hope and expectation that every word and promise in the Bible was their and that they were new creatures in Christ! As inmates came up to thank me for taking the time to visit them, I realized that I was meeting men that were my brothers and that we’ll share eternity together with our Savior Jesus. One in particular was Nader who was from Egypt. He was so appreciative to see other Christians caring enough to come and share with them. What an exciting opportunity to see the power of the gospel so vividly and powerfully on display. I realized that it was me who should be thanking them for the spiritual renewing.
There are lives in great need, all around us, that the gospel will transform and set FREE. Take time to follow our Lord’s command and pray to know how God can use you to proclaim the gospel through your living sacrifice and see the people in your world be changed one life at a time. LADIES SEMINAR IN LAPU-LAPU CITY
PHILIPPINES

Don Redman Matthew 25:35, 36, 40, 41 New Living Translation

‘For I was hungry, and you fed me. I was thirsty, and you gave me a drink. I was a stranger, and you invited me into your home. I was naked, and you gave me clothing. I was sick, and you cared for me. I was in prison, and you visited me.’ And the King will say, ‘I tell you the truth, when you did it to one of the least of these my brothers and sisters, you were doing it to me!’

Your financial contributions toward travel expenses for the seminars are greatly appreciated.  Please designate on your check the seminar you wish to help with.
