CELEBRATES 25 YEARS OF PASTORING GRACE CHURCH FAIRVIEW HEIGHTS, IL My family and I were privileged to be part of Pastor Hal & Pam’s 25th church celebration July 17—19. My late husband, Henry set Pastor Hal in as youth minister in 1984. Seeing that he had great potential in becoming the pastor, he recommended to the board and the church that Hal be put in as their pastor, which they did. Pastor Hal was 28 years old at that time, the same age as Henry when we took the church in 1956. The church celebrated our 25th anniversary as pastors in 1981. Under the leadership of Pastor Hal & Pam, the church attendance has doubled in size, they have done a lot of expanding and gone to 3 services on Sunday mornings. I’m very proud of their accomplishments over the past 25 years as pastors of Grace Church and I’m sure if Henry was still alive he would say the same. SUNDAY SCHOOL CLASS REUNIONOn Tuesday evening after the celebration, Mike & Cheryl Neace hosted a get together for some of those who grew up with my children, Shirley & Don. Most of them I taught in Sunday School from the time they were in Jr. High and all through their teen years on into the young married couples class. Every time they were promoted, they promoted me as their teacher. This caused a real bonding over the years, even to this day. Some of them have gone on to be pastors and missionaries.
