I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus. (Phil. 3:13,14) We are standing at the threshold of the new year, of our untried tomorrows. As we go forth to conquer the challenges that lie ahead, we must remind ourselves of what we have in Christ Jesus: I have strength for all things in Christ who empowers me—I am ready for anything and equal to anything through Him who infuses inner strength into me. That is, I am self-sufficient in Christ’s sufficiency. (Phil. 4:13 Amplified Bible) We must renew our relationship with Christ, as Paul said, “forgetting those things that are behind and reaching forth to the things that are before.” To have a future we must forget the past. It is part of our nature to want to live in the yesterdays of life, in “the days that come not back again.” We would rather relive the strife, the bad habits, the heartaches, and stumbling steps, than to face the uncertain. “The Road Not Taken” poem, written by David Frost, talks about two roads diverged in a wood. I took the one less traveled by, and that has made all the difference. We are standing at the parting of the ways. There is a choice to make, some road to take, and we must consider which, how is it we intend to live? Will it be repetitious of the past? We can’t see what lies ahead, but we know the one who holds the future. As we keep our eyes upon Him, we can face the dawn of the new year with confidence because we can do all things through Christ which strengthens us. Preparations are under way for our upcoming seminar in the Philippines. There will be 100 ladies invited to attend from Lapu-lapu City and the surrounding area. CMA will cover the expenses for those who are coming from outside the city and food for all the ladies for 3 days. Regina Blount will join me in teaching during the seminar and Pastor Lloyd Blount will conduct the evening services which will be open to the public. Expenses for this seminar, travel, food and lodging will be approximately $8,000. If you feel lead to help lighten the load of these expenses please designate on your check: “2010 Philippine Seminar”. Thank you in advance for partnering with us to reach out to these women. There is still time to send your donation toward the Northern Uganda project. Refer to the October 2009 newsletter for details from Bro. Oonyu James concerning the need there. You can bring up back newsletters through our website: www.christianmissionary.org In an effort to stay current, CMA is now offering the monthly newsletter and other information to be received electronically. Please let us hear from you if you would like to be included on our e-mail list. Thank you for helping us keep our records updated. |
